Lamps & Shades

Each Lumina collection takes its own form.

Mid-Century Modern Revisited begins with sourcing — I select vintage ceramic lamp bases already in good original condition then rewire and pair each with a hand-crafted shade.

The Palouse Collection also offers the complete lamp. Bases created in collaboration with local artisan wood-turners and iron fabricators, are paired with shades that reflect various ethnic cultures, style, and the natural environment of the Pacific Northwest.

Children's and Unconventional are shade-only collections, where the fabric itself does the storytelling.

Each shade is hand-crafted from over 150 fabric designs, chosen not only for pattern and color but for how each fabric reflects and releases light. Some designs are developed in collaboration with graphic fabric artists — adjusting scale, refining detail, or shifting a design to work in three dimensions.

By pairing a different fabric on the inside of the shade with the design on the outside, the two interact once lit. A shade might show animals drifting in hot air balloons by day — switch on the light — and the inside fabric transforms the scene entirely, revealing wind, moon, and stars where there were none. This is where the shades become truly unconventional.
